Do I need a GP Referral?
You do not need a GP referral to come to therapy. Nor do you need to be suffering from a mental health problem. People sometimes come to talk when they're feeling completely well but just want to ensure they stay that way during a tricky time. Others will come when they're experiencing some kind of life obstacle or limitation.
The easiest way to make an appointment is to email me and set up an initial appointment when we can discuss how we can work together.
Many people benefit from talking about their circumstances before they become a problem.
How long will I need to come to therapy?
This is always a difficult question to answer without having additional information. Even with detailed intake information its impossible to know what other issues may arise.
What I can say is that we'll discuss this during our initial consultation and also regularly check in to ensure that things are working for you.
Its usually beneficial to commit to at least 10 sessions, which may be weekly or fortnightly and possibly progress to further apart as time goes on. I therefore offer a reduced price for a series of 10 pre-booked appointments.
Some people also like to do an annual or biannual top-up just to check in after they've completed a series of sessions.
